More graduate engineers for STEM Biosolutions and the green transition!

Bag om projektet

Biosolutions has great potentials to deliver on the green agenda worldwide. However, a skilled and qualified workforce is needed to unleash the competitiveness of European Biosolutions companies.

Casestory: #BIO2ME, a community based project funded by the European Social Fund Plus.

In 2018, Absalon University College (UAS) established the graduate engineering programme in the Biotech Symbiosis City Kalundborg, situated in a rural area of the Greater Copenhagen Region – and with C25 company plants as Novo Nordisk and Novonesis and SMEs & start-ups in the region – all having an urgent need for qualified labour.

The #BIO2ME project increases the recruitment to the engineering programmes of adult students from the local region by using Community Network approaches with harnessing and retaining Talent & self-efficacy development, SME Mentorships and Engineering Makerspace courses.
